I think that it is very important to communicate openly and directly especially with ones students. They way that one can communicate their ideas clearly is to have them written down. Write down what you expect of our students and also what they will be graded on so there is no room for confusion. Also reiterate what you want to students to accomplish, they should not have to guess as to what you are looking for in an assignment but rather no exactly what needs to be done. I think that communication is vital to the education world and also in the everyday world. In my groups PSA video we gave a perspective student a drive down Broadway and showed them were some of the local and campus building are located. This video will help the students to visualize what the town looks like and how it might feel attending Sterling College.
There are many lifestyles, and points of view omitted from this message. If a student were to watch this video they would not know exactly what Sterling looks like and also all that it has to offer. This only gives them a brief glimpse into the eyes of a ride down Broadway; it does not give the students a full view of the campus or even a full view of the town of Sterling.
This media can bring about a change in education by prompting students to create their own video about the town that they live in. They might want to film all the favorite areas that the town has to offer and this may be a great public service announcement for the students to do in the classroom. They can use the video even in a persuasive speech as to why someone should visit their town as opposed to others.
