Video storying telling the the classroom could be something that is very useful for students to do. I think in my classroom I personally won't do much of it for the students but I think that if the students did it to report on a project it could be good and also use integration very well. To me as the teacher making the story line is something I didn't really enjoy or get into but I can see students really enjoying it and getting into it. For them it would be something more then just a post boar…

I like this Assignment because it allows students to be creative. Many events and people have changed the world, I chose to make a video over 9-11 and the war in Iraq because it was a major change that happened here in the U.S. but also effects others too. Many have died but should not be forgotten. So in memory of all those who died or have suffered from this and continue to suffer thank you.

I thought this assignment was going to be so hard and boring but I ended up really liking this assignment. I like to make slide shows and movies like this because I think they are so fun and entertaining to do. The final product always looks so good. I also liked this assignment because it allows us to show different ideas and pictures of how people effect the lives of others. Movie maker is a good way to express your feelings by choosing pictures that may effect your life and choosing songs to…

When first hearing about this assignment, I was completely lost on what exactly I was supposed to do and also what I would do my video over. After finally understanding the assignment, I chose to do a digital story over YouthFriends. Once I got started on the video, I had a blast creating and perfecting it to the best of my ability. I think Digital Stories are a great idea for the classroom, not only for providing the students with new information, but allowing them to come up with their own ide…

I will be honest, I was completely dreading this assignment. I don't think of myself as a very creative person and definately lack in the technology knpw-how. The hardest part of this project, for me, was to just get started. Once I picked a theme and actually started building my movie, it was easy. I like my final project and hope that others do to. I downloaded PhotoStory3 from the Microsoft website and that is what I used to create my story. It was very user friendly and the tutorial was basi…

This was the first time that I have ever used any type of movie maker and I really thought that it would be a lot harder than it was. I didnt realize how fast and easy it actually was to make a movie. I think that this is a good tool to use in my classroom. It would make lessons fun and more interesting for my students. I think that because it is so quick and easy to make a movie, it will be more helpful throughout lessons.

This was the first time I have used Windows Movie Maker so it took me a little while to get used to it and understand what all it could do. It wasn't very difficult to put slides together; it was actually easier than I expected. But one thing I did have trouble with was when I added text to be displayed on a certain slide. I added it to the selected slide but then whenever I deleted a slide or added a slide, it messed up the timing of everything. I thought that when I clicked add text to the sel…

Thinking of Digital Storytelling in my classroom is something I think could be very helpful. I had fun doing this project and it was neat to see the final project. I think for visual learners this is something that could definitely come in handy. You could use it to actually show students information visually. At the Elementary level though students couldn't do a lot with making videos, that would have to be saved for higher ages. Other than just for showing I honestly dont know how this would b…

When I think abouyt digital story telling, I can think of several ways that they could be benefital in my classroom. Many teachers think that P.E. is just a play time and students don't learn. Digital story telling can teach students about the history of sport, different events and rules, as well as important personalities of sports that have changed the way we play and view sports today. Videos can also be used to keep track of student development. The teacher can film students performing a cer…

When I think of what digital storytelling could do in a classroom. I know that it will help the visual learners. And if we create one it will help the Kinetic learners. I could see a lot of positive things coming out of digital storytelling, but I would save the actual project for higher grades like 7-12. I don't think my kindergarten could do much with it.

Presentation Tools

I really like this site because it is an easy access to a lot of sweet presentation places like animoto and prezentit. Sadly, a lot of these accounts I have found the user has to pay for them. So, I probably won't be able to use them to their fullest potential till I find the need.

I find it very interesting that such sites are available. I know there are many times when I am doing research when I would like to not have to scroll through a bunch of useless sites to find ones that actuallly help me. As a future teacher I feel that these sites may come in use for me when it comes to creating lesson plans. I think that introducing my students to some of these sites will assist them in their school work and research. I have used Facebook since I've been at college and find it…

Social networking is a great tool to use in the classroom. It allows people to communicate globally and readers to see many opions at the click of a mouse. Social networking not only allows teachers and students to communicate but parents and other professors throughout the U.S. Bookmarking sounds like a great tool. It makes work for the teachers more convienent and also other users. I need this so many times and would like to use the bookmarking site. I enjoyed the tokbox conversation with the…

I think Social networking is something that is very important in education and just in everyday life. I think Facebook and Myspace are probable some other best thing that have even happen to me. It allows me to talk to my family and friends from back home and nobody calls anyone on the phone anymore so it helps. It is a really good way to help with homework I mean I have been on facebook and been talking to friends about homework. I know a few teachers that have facebook that I can get on and ta…

I know that as technology continues to grow and become more and more popular that people are getting their hands on it at younger ages but it is amazing to me that "96% of students with online access report that they ever used any social networking technologies," according to Simply Speaking. I don't think I started using social networking technologies until I got to high school and recieved a cell phone. I didn't start using online social networking technologies until college, so I really find…

After reading Social Networking In The Classroom, and eSchool News, I have came to the conclusion that the trend of social networking in the school systems is going to play a major role in future classrooms. With the amount of students that are involved with these programs, it would be silly not to use them. Students will be able to be connected with there teachers any day any time. This will definatly decrease the number of forgotten assignments, or unfinished work due to the lack of understand…

I think social networking is an awesome thing to have. I like how students actually talk about homework. I think it is very beneficial because if some students dont understand something, they can get on and ask their peers for help. I think it would help increase grades and also just give students extra help if needed. I couldnt beleive the statistics on this and that 50% actually used social networking to talk about education. That proves that students with access to technology actually put it…

With interest I was reading the posts concerning Social Bookmarking, Networking, and Technology Integration. I am a curriculum coordinator in a district not too far from Sterling. I am amazed at how many teachers do not go in search of a network to help them find lessons and projects that are engaging to students. I am also amazed at how many do not use technology!
When I was a beginning teacher in 1988 I taught MS Science in a K-8 school. I was the science department. It was lonely. In 1991, I…

I do not find it surprising that 96 percent of students have used social networking. I know that my 12 year-old sister already had a cell phone and a facebook. I did not get either one until my junior year of high school. I think that technology, in general, plays a huge part in society today and that more and more students will use technology. I am excited that by time I will be teaching, we will use technology probably everyday in my classroom. That's a big advantage that this generation and t…

Social networking is something that is very important I believe in education. As "social networking in education" stated that many of the students, in fact 96% of them belong to a social networking group or website. Of those 96% 50% of those students use there social networking to talk specifically about homework. For students that can be very beneficial, if they don't understand it in class they can ask the teacher but at home they cant do that but can talk to other students and together they m…
