Your ideas of using Visual Ranking as a class starter and a way to group students by the way their responses compared is very creative. That way you are not just placing them in groups to be placed in groups. As for Venn Diagram I am not sure how ...

Video Storytelling

When I first started this assignment I was a little scared that I was not going to do very well. I had never worked on a software like this and I had certainly not ever made a movie before. I came up with my topic and after I had found my pictures, filmed and found the right music it was a breeze to finish up the project.
I think that video storytelling is a fun a creative activity for stud… Continue

PSA (Sterling Kansas)

I think that it is very important to communicate openly and directly especially with ones students. They way that one can communicate their ideas clearly is to have them written down. Write down what you expect of our students and also what they will be graded on so there is no room for confusion. Also reiterate what you want to students to accomplish, they should not have to guess as to what you are looking for in an assignment but rather no exactly what needs to be done. I think that communica… Continue

Social Networking

The first article that I read was posted by Steve Hargadon. He talked about how social networking has a negative stigma and is only used by the younger generations. Steve used his article to break down these barriers and stigmas by explaining that interacting with others online can be educational. He explained and gave many examples of places where teachers can go and find useful tools for their classroom. I really liked this website. He was to the point about how you don't have to be you… Continue

Web 2.0

The first article that I read was called Exploring Web 2.0 Teaching Ideas. http://web2teachingideas.wetpaint.com/

The article first introduced the importance of creating a PLN, which stands for Personal Learning Network. A personal learning network is a place where you can connect online with other educators to support and share new and creative ideas. The website then gave some sites to visit that supported this idea of a learning network. The teacher also talked about how they had created a n… Continue
