We are involved with implementation of a Technology Rich Classroom Grant. All of our 5th and 6th grade classrooms are involved in this project. What are some examples of "appropriate" use of technology in classrooms you are in? OR I've got an idea of how to implement technology into the classroom, but want to have someone else look at it and share some thoughts. . .

I know this is an important topic and that new hires will be expected to be ready to use technology in their classrooms. I think it is important to be ready!

Kevin, this is Dean Mantz from Lyons. We should sit down some time and share some ideas. I have some 5th and 6th grade teachers that would like to conduct collaborative projects with other school districts. I am currently developing some professional development based Levels of Technology Implementation (LoTi) as well as integrating Intel's Teaching to the Future. The big drive for improving my teachers is to strengthen our use of the 1 to 1 laptop initiative that is now in year 4.

By the way, is Inman currently using any of the Discovery Education website services? The reason I ask is due to a Discovery Educator Network leadership team, consisting of myself and three other educators, is being developed for the state of Kansas. The leadership team will be establishing different events for educators and offering training sessions for successful implementation and training starting in late October early November.
